No.10 McEwan Pratt (unrestored)

Builder/Type: 10hp McEwan Pratt

Works number/year built: 736/1917

Previous bases: New to War Deparment Light Railway; returned to Baguley; Bristol Corporation Water Works, Blagdon reservoir.

Notes on the prototype: One of only three exmples of this type of early internal combustion loco in existance (No.11 is another). This one remained as acquired – basically a rolling chassis – for it’s whole time at the ALR. Initially it was on the track and shunted around like a wagon, then moved alongside the track in the compound with the Muir Hill (as depicted on the layout) and then finally moved indoors out of the weather. It remains in this condition today.

Notes on the model: The model of No.10 is made out of 3D printed parts I originally made to test the theory of how I was going to build a working model of No.11, which is the same type of loco. It is finished in the rusty condition the prototype was in when it sat out in the compound.
